Vera...you were great last night on Wanda's live show. I do, however, appreciate the gut-wrench you and Gooch must be feeling right now. My hubby and I live in MA, where we still have the right to be a married couple, but our hearts, our anger, and our outrage go to you, and to the many, many couples who live in California (and in the states where gay marriage is already banned).

I am not willing to give up on California, and will do all I can to bring this back to the people for an overturn, to re-instate your basic human right to a legally binding marriage, and to actually make this country a fair and equitable place to live.

With open arms,
Thom & Nate

We must not give up this fight. This is only the beginning.

Dear Vera,

There are no words. I'm in total agreement with you. I feel the exact same feelings as you. I feel totally deflated right now. Please continue to do what you do. It lessens the pain just a little bit to know there are others of like mind out there.

I can't agree more about what you said on this show. The hatred by so many and what truly upset me was that the black community in LA alone voted 2 to 1 for Yes on Prop 8.

Guess they forgot what it used to be like for minorities and what still happens every day.

The only thing I can say is that instead of looking or doing the negative - why not look at what the Obama team was able to do - they networked with people all over the country and we MUST do the same for not only the GLBT community but our straight allies as well.

I voted for Obama. But lets not forget. He is against gay marriage. So my vote for him was kinda hard. Better than McCain. But he is still against gay marriage.

As a gay member of the Knights, I must defend my council against you. I love my council and they accept me. We give so much to those that need it. Please just target those that gave money to yes on 8. My council did not accept it. please let your listeners know that those in Santa Fe, NM did not support this prop. I love you and your show. Please accept my apology to those in the Knights that dont accept us.

Vera, I'm very sorry. I expected the twat waffles of South Carolina to pass their amendment when it happened here, but I honestly thought California would be different. However, hope is not lost for you and your fellow CA residents who were already married. I'll keep my fingers crossed that the absentee votes end up reversing this.

I love the passion in your voice on this topic. You spoke for so many of us with your words in this podcast. My state already has hate in the constitution, but so many others have a chance to avoid the hate in their own states. Don't give up. This might be a set back but in time things will change...especially with Obama in office. Attitudes changes slowly. Hang in there.
