Losing my own fur daughter after 14wonderful years, is still, to this day, devastating and depressing. I've always felt that words can't adequately describe the moment of loss, the empty years, or the miracles large and small that visit and connect us hopefully, to those we've had to let go.

Maybe, I was wrong about that. For me, your words (and the reason for them) have hit home, are felt, understood and cherished more than you can imagine.

Here's to your Hoonie/winged spirit, who flew the crazy high seas, searching, landing and giving you and she exactly what you needed.

sometimes, I make myself puke.

what I meant to say was this:

"What a beautiful tribute to Hoonie."

What a beautiful story. I know what it's like to loose a pet. I wrote something just after our sweet 11 year old black lab passed away, nearly three years ago now. Sometimes I swear I still hear the jingle of her collar when I go home to my parent's house. I think I'm going to post it as a blog.
