I saw a production at the National Theater in DC that included The Jitterbug (Garland et al. do it best). It was a little creepy, but the whole thing was a bit high school. I know there's a certain level of suspended disbelief required, but when one of the guards accidentally kicked the bucket across the floor at the end just moments before Dorothy was to pick it up to drench the witch, it was rather difficult to recover.
